For me if all the track remove I fix the sprocket first then I track both track together for it to fix and also the second question you don’t have to remove all just fix it on the sprocket but I think a video of wat am saying can be explained more

As for me, I will put idler in between the link and set the sprocket into the link then I will track to sprocket

for me you need to fixed the sprocket first before coming to idler,if you fixed the idler and the link is not long the spocket will not go but when you fixed on the spocket it can go easy for you

You can fix the idler first that could be only if you have space to track the two on to the idler and the sprocket will pin the link down and it fix easily
