@robandhaley: Here’s everything that just happened in the courtroom. According to Reddington, one juror is not following the law. The judge sent them back to keep deliberating. #lindsayclancyverdict #lindsayclancy #lindsayclancytrial #lindsayclancycase
I was a juror on a minor assault charge. I KNEW in my heart the defendant was guilty, but the prosecution had not proven beyond a reasonable doubt, so I had to vote to acquit. I hated doing it, it made me cry, but it was my job as a juror. The one juror holding out is such bullshit. It’s possible to separate your feelings from the law. This juror is simply choosing not to.

As someone who’s sat on a jury, a lot of people struggle with/forget the fact that everyone should be presumed INNOCENT until when/if the prosecution proved beyond a reasonable doubt they are guilty. A lot of people think that someone is guilty until the defense proves they aren’t. And this is how we get into this situation.

Why do people get on a jury if they don’t understand reasonable doubt?

they weren't sequestered and I wonder if someone didn't follow the roles and is bringing up things from social media that weren't presented to them by the Commonwealth

Anyone who has been following this trial, ESPECIALLY the jury, can see there is reasonable doubt based off the evidence provided. Beliefs and feelings aside, the prosecution has not provided enough.

I truly think to be even be considered a juror you need to study and pass some kinda test that you understand basic law and protocols 😫

Unfortunately even with explanation a lot of people don’t understand reasonable doubt and burden of proof

So one person is saying “well she still could have!” When everyone is exhausted saying “but there’s a lot of doubt.” And that person agrees that there’s doubt but won’t just say not guilty. Like babes if you want more evidence, it’s not there. You gotta work on what they gave you.

That juror is not fit to be on the jury if they’re not even following instructions.

I served as a foreman for a jury a few years ago, and when it came time to deliberate after three days of trial, I had to remind my fellow jurors that we were not there to debate whether or not the guy was a good parent, but whether or not he violated a restraining order when he came in contact with the person who had a restraining order against him, some of the jurors argued that the reason he contacted her was in regard to their children, but the restraining order was very clear in its language that there should be no communication between them and any communication should be through the lawyers. It took a long time to convince people that we were not there to debate the merit of whether or not we personally thought he was a good dad because of what he did but rather did he break the law when he didn’t follow the restraining order…this was for a three day trial. I can’t even begin to imagine what it’s like to serve as a juror on a case of this sort.

If a juror is refusing to follow the law and the rest of the jury is reporting that, then wouldn’t that be considered a deviation from due process?

The hold out is disgraceful.. they just want to be defiant and feel like they have power. But they’re playing with someone’s life to do it.

The fact that Lindsay was never interviewed by police and there was NO investigation is ENOUGH for reasonable doubt… and that’s not even counting the inconsistencies in testimony. 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
