1) dehumidifier with a hose to a drain. They can be hung over a utility sink so they drain at all times.

As a nurse, please buy/use a respirator mask... Whatever is there, whether it be mold, asbestos, etc, you don't want to be breathing it in. They look kinda wild and feels weird/uncomfortable when you're first wearing it, but you get used to it and it's worth it. They have them at Lowes, Walmart, etc. This is what I have. I have no idea what level of protection it provides against this like mold, asbestos, etc, it seems like it would be better than nothing. I use it for DIY stuff with furniture for fun, like sanding, painting, etc. This is the one I have, but there are lots of options and levels of filtration out there.

When pulling that floor up PLEASE check for asbestos! Your home looks like it might be in the time range to have asbestos floor tiles and I don’t want anyone getting sick!

Mold is devastating, I’m sorry you guys are going through it. But you’re right, you and your family deserve a safe place to live and thrive. Amazing before and after still! The scraping was sooooooo satisfying (especially because my arms weren’t paying for it)

Maybe get a dehumidifier and run it all the time. Get a heat gun and pull the tiles up. Put some fans down there to dry the floor as much as possible

Is it peel and stick? If that’s the case. Get it up as you 100% have mold underneath. Get the mold treated and then paint the floor for a cheaper option for now. You can add rugs in the areas that you plan on using as hang out space

I would get exterior bleach clean mold. Pull floor and bleach. Run humidifier and then paint with this sealer.

If you don’t live in a humid city, it might be a good idea to replace that small window with one that can be opened. It would help with air circulation. 😊
