You are never guaranteed that the jurors actually listen to the instructions. It’s also why it’s so damaging when the prosecution violates the rules of evidence and brings concepts like “mortal sin” into the trial—those improper areas of inquiry infect the jurors’ minds and are INTENDED to persuade the jurors to disregard the evidence and to vote based on their personal morals. Clearly, the prosecution’s games worked here for this one juror. #trial
