@endhorseslaughter2: URGENT: DYING BABY HORSES There are around ~30 horses by our count remaining inside the slaughter holding facility. Two of them are these feral colts. The temps went from the 80s yesterday to a feels like 22 degrees today. That rapid temperature change can cause a horse to colic and colic bad. Colic in horses is deadly because they cannot vomit. Colic in horses is a general term for abdominal pain, usually caused by gas buildup, intestinal spasms, feed impaction, or twisting of the intestines. Rapid temperature changes can increase the risk because horses often drink less cold water in sudden cold weather, which can lead to dehydration and dry feed material moving poorly through the gut. These changes can slow gut movement and increase the chance of gas buildup or impaction, triggering colic. With the cramped conditions, it’s very likely they didn’t get enough water. We can’t medicate them until we own them. We HAVE to get both out and get them out now so we can help them. Overnight donations do not even equal one horse yet. I know we’ve asked a lot of you, CCR but this is the final day and these are just babies. If they survive their colic, it’s leaving on a slaughter truck at some point today. Please help us help them.
