I honestly think you were very clear about exactly what happened, and how it happened. I personally don’t think the issue is “that serious” she has to worry about being in public w her children and I think that was a mechanism to get you to “feel bad” because her company now has a bad look. She’s realizing actions come with consequences, and she can not walk all over people, I believe she sees as “lower” than her.
