The fact you didn’t want to share this but decided to so you could help others who might be in this situation shows your selflessness, compassion, and optimism which are all qualities that will make you an amazing PT. I am very sorry to hear about your brother and wish you the best on your healing journey, but I’m happy to hear you’re in a better place mentally now. I was dismissed too! Took the 8 months off to focus on my mental health and was readmitted with the next cohort. Met my best friends & thrived second time around! Passed NPTE first time and working my dream job now. Keep going, you got this!! 🫶🏼

Wow, I can’t imagine how hard that was! Take all the time you need, you deserve to feel your grief. You will and are doing big things! Thank you for being so open about this! So many people struggle in grad school and don’t allow themselves to be okay with it not working out the way they planned 🤍

My story is similar. My dad passed away during physical therapy school. I was not doing well mentally. One of my professors said that I was using my father's death as an excuse for not doing well. The professor told me this after 3 months of my dad being in the grave. I took time off, went back to school, and now I am a DPT. I believe in you and I am glad you are taking time off to heal! ❤️🩹

I was dismissed from my OT school…I had lost my cousin the first term I got to OT school, second term my dad had a stroke…this third term was the best I could do but was dismissed for my GPA not being high enough I’m glad I wasn’t the only one alone through this ❤️Thank You for sharing this!!! And u def will get through this
