No such thing as a heavy landing in the Boeing maintenance manual. It’s either a hard landing or an overweight landing. And that’s not a brake.

If you’re referring to another braking method that pilots use known as reverse thrusters ….. yes sometimes there can be some smoke due to some unspent fuel

You seem to not really know what you’re talking about. After shut down, all engines have some residual smoke like this (un burnt oil and fuel). It’s normal and does not indicate anything about the landing.
