@catekettner: I’m not inconsistent. I’m sick. And most people have no idea how bad it really is. 💔 I’ve had chronic migraines my entire life. They started when I was a little girl, but as I’ve gotten older, they’ve become progressively more debilitating. And right now, I’ve been stuck in a flare-up I’ve experienced for at least five weeks. When I say migraine, I don’t mean a little headache. I mean debilitating, relentless pain that can completely take over your life. And the hardest part right now is that I WANT to be creating. I have so much content I want to film. I have ideas I’m excited about. I want to grow my TikTok, build my UGC business, learn digital marketing, connect with women, and make an income doing something I love. But some days, I can barely function. I have spent my entire life trying to find answers. I’ve seen every kind of doctor. Tried medication after medication. Tried holistic and natural approaches. Elimination diets. Avoiding food triggers. Physical therapy. Pain clinics. Occipital nerve blocks. Trigger point injections. Chiropractic care. Massage therapy. Craniosacral therapy. And so many other treatments I’ve honestly lost count. I even recently spent $6,000 on a three-month program designed to retrain the neural pathways in my brain and break the migraine cycle. It didn’t work for me. And that is one of the most frustrating things about chronic illness: you can do EVERYTHING you’re told to do and still not get better. This past year became especially bad. I had gotten to the point where I physically couldn’t continue doing my job as a hairstylist after 21 years. The physical demands of the job combined with being completely overwhelmed by chronic pain became too much. I went to the ER three times in one month and was eventually admitted to the hospital for a week shortly before leaving Los Angeles. Moving back to Florida was partly about being closer to my family—but it was also because I was so sick that I simply couldn’t keep pushing my body the way I had been. And the scary thing about chronic migraines is that these flare-ups can come out of nowhere. I never know if I’m going to feel awful for a few days… or if I’m going to lose months of my life to pain. I’ll be honest: I feel guilty about it. I’ve invested in TWO different programs to learn digital marketing, UGC and TikTok. I’ve followed the instructions. I’ve put in the work whenever my body allows me to. Both programs talked about reaching 1,000 followers within the first week or two if you follow the system. I’ve been doing this for about six weeks…and I’m still not at 1,000. And yes, I’m frustrated. I want to start earning money. I want to build something for myself. I want to show up consistently. But it’s hard to give 100% to anything when you’re spending your days fighting through some of the worst pain imaginable. So if you’re wondering why I haven’t been posting as much as I want to… This is why. I’m not giving up. ❤️ And through all of this, I’m holding onto my faith. I’m a Christian woman with strong values, and I truly believe God has put something on my heart. I’ve been feeling called to create a space specifically for women living with chronic illness, chronic pain, invisible illness and debilitating health conditions—a place where we can talk honestly about what it’s like to live in a body that doesn’t always cooperate with the life you desperately want to live. So I want to ask YOU: Would you be interested in me creating a separate TikTok account dedicated to women living with chronic illness and chronic pain? A place for encouragement, faith, honest conversations, coping with the things nobody sees, and reminding each other that our worth isn’t determined by how productive we are on our sickest days. And if YOU live with a chronic illness, chronic pain, migraines, or another invisible illness… Tell me in the comments. ❤️ I want to know how many of you are fighting something people can’t see. #ChronicMigraine #ChronicIllness #ChronicPain #migraines #invisibleillness

Girl! I am so sorry. My best friend in middle school and high school had chronic migraines. Her doctor recommended 500mg of ibuprofen as needed each time (wth right?) for my friend l, it lessened as an adult but she still experiences them from time to time. I’m so sorry this happened to you. Wishing you healing and discovery. Glad you’re back home with the people who love you. Sending love your way.
