I got married with 75 people for $5000 oh and that's with the honeymoon. It's all on how you budget and what you do to make it within you budget. And it wasn't no backyard weeding either.

50k is insane, our venue caps at like 20k/30k for 200/250 people with food and everything.

The biggest problem is the "wedding tax". The EXACT same requirements could be used for a company retreat or a lavish birthday party and it would be like $25k cheaper simply because it's NOT a wedding! Hire a food truck for a birthday, $500. Say it's for a wedding, suddenly there's an extra 0! They pull up to a wedding, you get sued!

We got married in a park with just our chosen family. 13 people including us and our kids. 🤣 our financial situation at the time was awful. Eventually we plan to do a ceremony but we've already agreed to be very small in spending because we'd rather fly people out to celebrate with us than have fancy event.
