totally agree! complex is not always better. I love a lot of the Dinosaur Jr. solos (eg Start Choppin', Feel the pain) don't (and I am a totally uniformed in terms of what it takes to make these sounds) seem super technical or complicated...but they kick ass!

Fogerty wasn't a shredder. He didn't need to be. He was a master of slow soulful phrasing. Every note hits perfectly.
