@markzguitar: One of the BEST Classic Rock Solos Ever? The solo to “Born on the Bayou” isn’t flashy, but it’s loaded with great ideas—and every one of them fits that swampy CCR groove perfectly. Bluesy phrases, R&B-style 6ths, open strings, and a touch of tremolo make this one instantly recognizable. #ccr #creedenceclearwaterrevival #johnfogerty #bornonthebayou #guitarsolo #classicrock #classicrockguitar #guitarlesson #guitartips #bluesguitar
Fogerty always had solid solos that played off the chord. Definitely a lot to be gleaned from his style.

totally agree! complex is not always better. I love a lot of the Dinosaur Jr. solos (eg Start Choppin', Feel the pain) don't (and I am a totally uniformed in terms of what it takes to make these sounds) seem super technical or complicated...but they kick ass!

Fogerty wasn't a shredder. He didn't need to be. He was a master of slow soulful phrasing. Every note hits perfectly.
