Instead of filling every square immediately, I like leaving a little room for plans that inevitably appear throughout the month. Appointments, deadlines, birthdays, events, errands, creative projects, and all the tiny things that are very easy to forget when they’re living exclusively in my brain. September is also one of my favorite months for stationery because everything starts to feel a little more intentional. There’s something about a fresh page, a new pen, and an entirely empty calendar that makes me convinced I can suddenly become the most organized person alive. For this month, I’m focusing on making my planner functional but still fun to look at. I want it to be something I actually enjoy opening every day rather than another productivity system I abandon after a week. A little color, some visual hierarchy, and enough structure to keep track of everything without making the page feel overwhelming. I’m also trying to separate the things that need to get done from the things I simply want to get done. Not every day needs to be maximized, and not every blank space needs to be filled. Sometimes the most useful thing a planner can do is show you where you have room to breathe. Here’s to September: getting organized, romanticizing the mundane, making lists we may or may not finish, and pretending that a beautiful planner will solve all of our problems. 📝 What are you planning for this month? “
