Ojalá puedan hablar del ECOCIDIO que está ocurriendo en Morelia 😭 Están talando más de 600 árboles, de los pocos pulmones verdes que nos quedan. Aún podemos hacer algo! 🌳

It’s been long assumed that empathy is universally good. And in many places of society, where there is so much shame and condemnation, we do need much more empathy. But in therapeutic settings, many scientists are concerned it has gone too far the other way in a way that actually doesn’t help people get better. And the numbers are startling. We have more therapy, more medication, and more content and awareness than ever before, but mental health is getting worse. To get to the bottom of this, we brought together what you might call the Avengers of mental health on the latest episode of the Mighty Pursuit Podcast. This clip is from a one-of-a-kind team-up with three of the most influential voices in the world. At Columbia University, Dr. Lisa Miller has shown how spirituality and mental health are inseparable. At Stanford University, Dr. Anna Lembke has exposed how new technologies have caused dopamine overload and addiction in the brain. And at Harvard University, Dr. Uma Naidoo has established the gut-brain connection, revealing how what we eat shapes how we feel. Each brings a missing piece of the puzzle and together, they give us the whole story of mental health. This is the first time these voices have come together — a rare chance to hear from the people who have shaped the global conversation on mental health, all in one place. In this episode we’ll discuss: 1) Why talk therapy seems to be failing a lot of people 2) How removing God and spirituality from the public square made the mental health crisis much worse 3) Why medication in America has become a problem, and is preventing people from doing the deeper work in the midst of pain 4)How to turn the tide, and reverse course moving forward Link in bio to watch the full episode.
