I didn't know it was normal to have the same friend group forever until I met my bf's friend group 💀 I always had to get a new friend group every few years so I feel you

I was raised too religious to have school friends. So I had religious friends. Then I left that religion/cult and all of those people didn't want to be around me anymore because they don't like who I am as LGBTQ. I then built some friends in a different state because that's where my partners job was. Then I divorced him and had zero friends from back home because everyone was religious. then I had some work friends and some other hobby friends but not a big number of folks or got very close. Then I got really into politics and now that's my obsession and my whole social life. These friends feel like at least 25% of those are permanent. Who knows what's next?

I keep moving across the country and out of the country and rebuilding every time. I can't seem to go from fringe of the group text, group bar hangout, or good coworker into anything deeper. and all those relationships fall away when I move.
