I am 57. Was postmenopausal by 55. THAT’s when I found out that perimenopause existed. I went from dr to dr from 45-52 bc I was so miserable. Not one of those drs ever used the word perimenopause. No one suggested checking my hormone levels or using HRT. I gave up seeking answers till almost a year after I was postmenopausal.

Found out what it was about a year ago, and it explained SOOOoooooo much!!!! I was on birth control so truly have NO idea when I actually would have entered it. When I came off BC I thought I was going psycho, but putting the pieces together helped. Wish I’d known, I’d have done things differently

With the amount of information that is out there now on social media, research studies, books, etc. – why are women still experiencing doctors who gaslight them when they talk about their symptoms? I don’t understand how this is still happening.

I’m young genx i only were able to start HRT because i finally found a doctor that listened. I am pretty sure i have been in it for a few years.

I heard the word around 5-ish years ago. Just a few symptoms that I should expect and that was it. It wasn't until I started the "endgame", a little over a year ago, that I was completely blindsided. No one and nothing prepared me for the hormonal shitshow I would experience and have been going through. I will absolutely educate my daughter while she's still young so she's ready when this happens to her.

As a millennial woman who just turned 40 this year I just want to say thank you to all Gen X women who have been loud about perimenopause. Thanks to you I have become a better advocate for myself as I start getting more perimenopause symptoms.

All I knew about perimenopause at 47 was that my libido was dying. I’m 55 now and thanks to you, and TikTok I’ve learned so much more. I’m very grateful

I knew about it as I'm in love with the medical field and I look everything up from minor things as skintags and how to detect an uti to M. Waldenström and Tay-Sachs. I knew I was in perimenopauze before I,got there. So I felt the change in my body.

I believe it passed me by it now in post I'm having some issues..Even though I was having some heavy periods towards the end like my 50's and really didn't use any estrogen until my 60's to mid like now..unbelievable
