My husband and I were stationed at Shaw AFB in Sumter SC. Roughly an hour from Columbia. The three years I lived there....this story does not surprise me! lmao! I got lost trying to get the air port. The shit I saw....to this day confound me. 😂😂

Suspects can object to extradition. That is not the end of it. The prosecutor in the summoning state then asks the state where the alleged perpetrator is, to extradite over objection. What exactly is required in that process varies by the nature of the alleged crime and state legal procedures. Ultimately, extradition is frequently delayed, but rarely denied. For example, if the state requesting extradition has the death penalty, and they want to charge the perpetrator with a capital felony, which might result in death, and the state currently with custody of that perpetrator is strongly anti-death penalty, with statute in their legislation, they may refuse. That rarely results in never being extradited, but it does sometimes result in the state that wants to prosecute, agreeing in a legally binding way, not to pursue the death penalty.
