“Neo-feudalism” opinion disregarded

I watched the whole thing. The assumption here seems to be that Palantir is not “evil” because it’s the cumulative, perhaps inevitable, result of conglomerating all the systems that already had our information and that the people at the helm are not themselves evil because they have no internal alarm system going off telling them that what they’re doing is evil. The problem with this entire diatribe starts with, but isn’t limited to, its assumption that “evil” is restricted to a direct intention to harm or subjugate our fellow man. A person making a bad decision that has a negative effect on society can still be ontologically evil by most classical definitions. Evil does not require that someone consciously wake up and decide, “I want to do evil today.” The second weakness lies in the assumption that the people at the helm are unanimously committed to not doing evil or, at the very least, are morally neutral. How do you know this? The explanation you gave doesn’t account for that. Nor does it account for the “coincidence” that so many rich and powerful people occupying the same Venn diagram as those at the helm of companies like this are involved with esoteric, occultic, and sometimes explicitly satanic moral frameworks or, at minimum, morally relativistic ones. The latter isn’t much better, because such frameworks can justify actions that virtually every classical moral framework would identify as evil. So how exactly do you get from “this system emerged cumulatively, and its architects may not perceive themselves as evil” to “therefore, neither the system nor the people operating it should be characterized as evil”? That conclusion doesn’t seem to follow. How do you answer that?

No one understands he’s just purporting we live under Neo Feudalism, not arguing for it. Tech uses this term interchangeably with techno feudalism.

Gotta admit I'm not the most literate person out there, but a scripted argument for a company who's CEO struggled to answer if he wants humanity to continue definitely has some little bell ringing in the back of my mind.

arguing for feudalism is just ridiculous. any system that relies on surveillance, cohesion, and blackmail will never give fruit to a civilized society. this is a lot of useless utilitarianism and western idealogy. the plantir is just a tool is the same argument for the nuke

For the reasons you described, they are actually evil. You just sympathize with the owning class rather than the working class

There are so, so many issues with this take. I don’t have the energy to explain why. Seems like a cultural engineering expert doesn’t realize he’s being culturally engineered to believe in a narrative. There are many other options available to us as a society that would require us to change the way we look at how things are don’t here. When your laws are enforced by a bunch of criminals by their own definitions then your laws don’t mean much. The issue is any change that would actually help people would require the people who actively architect our society to give up their control over its own direction. Palantir does nothing to help the people. We already know who the people are who are leeching the money from society. If it was about change they could change the laws to not allow excessive wealth. Palantir is just a way to continue controlling a population becoming infinitely more complex. This is what happens when an empire starts failing, they squeeze tighter. The growth of relativism is only a bad thing for those who try to shape society. it’s hard to control a population that doesn’t have a single meaning structure. For a long time America fell for putting all meaning into money, they structured society to have a few examples of making it big so that everyone else feels like they can achieve it one day and spend their entire lives working for a retirement that will eventually be priced out. That structure is failing as now people are beginning to see the facade. This is a double sided sword however, it removes the old meaning structures leaving many to feel like they do not have a direction. But it actually does allow for more autonomy, which powers that be do not like. We already have the capability to changes the laws without this. We already know who holds the power and excessive wealth. We already know that an economy built on infinite growth will eventually fail. We already have the power to change the laws surrounding these issues. They haven’t done that and have shown they have no intent to. So obviously this is not the goal of Palantir. You say you’re concerned about nihilistic relativists but accepting Palantir seems more nihilistic than anything

With that disclaimer I’m gonna watch the video but I’m already wildly distrustful. Companies pay you to talk about things that will make consumers change their mind about them. This is technically an ad regardless of content

The whole literacy argument is also coming from the assumption that it hasnt been negatively and intentionally influenced by policies of the government. Reagan attacking higher education because students were against the vietnam war? Palantir is not an inevitable or necessary construct, it has been manufactured to look that way. Alternatives exist. They are not feasible because those in power conspire to gain and expand it.

I know you say not to despair, but after a few of your videos it feels as though we can't simply course correct. Its either we burn it all down and start over with all these things in mind or we just accept neo-feudalism until it inevitably kills the planet and forces a reset anyways. Where's the hope?
