Pipping hot take: Depending on who you where in history, trans women have had it relatively easier. HEAR ME OUT. If you were poor of a trans woman of color then you were in a very shitty situation, yes. But rich white trans women? They dressed up as women during parties and were seen as “eccentric party animals” and it would be seen as relatively normal in those eccentric parties, especially if they were a host and loved a costume theme party, in this parties of the upper class it was were most people of the lgbtq community could get a chance to express themselves and then blame it on the moment. Yes, you couldn’t live freely as your truest self but at least you had windows of freedom that women mostly couldn’t get themselves without the possibility of being seen as an “ungodly” woman without any real value.

I am very much a trans ally, & I’ve very rarely met a trans person who wasn’t a good person, but even my bsf who is a trans women has said somethings that we’ve definitely fought about like telling my ex bf that was I wrong about something with my period behind my back (they were wrong), & I think in terms of social justice arguments (like bodily autonomy) I wish it would be separated just for fairly obvious reasons. BUT I do think yall using some transgender women as an excuse to be flat out transphobic is a little immature & you’re overcorrecting. It’s a fairly small percentage of people who act insane like you describe, and very few who didn’t just do a bad here and there thing & apologized for it later because they were young and dumb. I won’t deny the existence of genuinely entitled people usually LGBTQ or political labels as an excuse to be an absolute rude idiot. 😔
