This has happened to me several times—on Depop, Poshmark, Mercari, and Vinted. Every single time, I report it AND message the person. Believe it or not, sometimes the platform doesn’t even find anything wrong with it. Vinted, specifically, has done that to me.
So now, if they don’t remove my photos, I create my own listing using my ORIGINAL photo and price, and I put it next to a screenshot of the listing that stole my pictures. I clearly state that the photos belong to me, that I have the actual item in my possession, and that I’m not affiliated with that seller in any way.
Because I usually catch it quickly, my original listing often ends up on the same page—sometimes literally right next to theirs. 😂 And so far, that has worked for me. They end up taking it down.
It just happened to me on Poshmark too. Since comments there are public, I politely told the seller that the photo belonged to me, that I had not authorized them to use it, and that I wasn’t affiliated with their listing, and asked them to please remove it.
