this is actually backed up by what happened with bumble. it was supposed to be an app where if you matched, the woman has to send the first message—initiate conversation. but women felt so pressured by it that they sued the app until it changed that rule.

I think the disconnect happens is because men’s “evidence” of being wanted and chosen is being asked for sex without having to initiate it. But a lot of women’s ways of showing they want and choose you, aren’t always sexual. For me personally, it’s inviting you into my space that I normally would only be in alone. Like spending the night, more specifically sleeping in the same bed as me. It’s an activity I hate because I value sleep so much, so for me to ask you to sleep with me is on the same level as you asking to have sex. But a lot of men don’t see it that way and that’s why the disconnect happens. You will initiate the thing you want most more than your partner. That’s unavoidable.

I feel like desire from the female is subtle and is often missed. It will not be as apparent as the males desire that can be so up front. Also the male asking for it often cant really be called a burden for him? If he would slow down and treat her with respect (among many other things) he might just see her initiate more? Idk stuff im working on.

I feel like it needs to be noted that some women will come looking and kicking the door down if she feels loved consistently. Also for some of us emotional intimacy has to there before physical intimacy and affection are even an option to be voiced. I don’t think of men of objects, maybe that’s also considered an issue in this column of view.
