it does have style. the whole active/leisure wear / health goth thing is mostly from Vancouver. I would argue for better or for worse Vancouver has been one of the most influential cities for fashion. go to Europe and you see Lululemon, northface and Hershal everywhere

We're French from Paris and we came to Vancouver after living 4 years in Tokyo. First time outside with my girl, she looked around and said "people here are badly dressed! They look like they're all going to the gym or something". Mind you, she was not even 5 at the time 😂

I've heard ppl say this before and I get confused because I see lots of people around the city with cool fits and interesting fashion sense also whoever runs that instagram account seasons of east van or something is always posting people in super cool fits idk it's definitely around it just depends on who you hang with and where you hang out I guess

I live in Vancouver and I’m always over dressed yet I NEVER feel weird about it and no one makes me feel uncomfortable because of it, everyone literally always compliments my outfits. do whatever makes u happy instead of blaming a city

Life is too short to care about what strangers wear. A quick errand run doesn’t depict style, as we know. Wanting the nightlife to be more elevated is totally fair but if you won't dress up because you feel out of place and you're waiting for a green light from the crowd, then you’re apart of that “no style” culture that you’re calling out. True style is a unique expression. If you only wear it when everyone else is doing it, it's just a public broadcast and nothing about that is style.
