The Bank for International Settlements (BIS) just put the XRP Ledger directly into a major institutional research paper. In BIS Working Paper No. 1374, researchers explored using blockchain to verify official statistics, including an open-source XRPL reference implementation. XRP/XRPL was reportedly referenced 101 times throughout the paper. The key idea: official data can be cryptographically verified, timestamped, and anchored to the XRP Ledger so changes can be detected and authenticity can be checked. This does not mean the BIS is endorsing XRP or predicting a higher XRP price.
