I have a someone with 25 years of admin, reception, accounting, experience including payroll and general ledger who has been looking for a job for 6 and 1/2 years and can't find one. and she's not even asking for high dollar money she's asking for like 18 to 20 bucks an hour

I'm a recruiter a lot of times companies struggle because they're barely paying anything!

I have found quite a few receptionist positions. The problem is they want to pay $12 an hour. Most of the administrative assistant positions in my area are advertising for $15 an hour. None of those wages are sustainable for a single woman who lives by herself.

I’m not criticizing your friend at all, but often, the receptionist and other admin type positions tack on extra duties that are out of scope for an admin and they want to pay minimum wage. The other thing is that many of them hire from temp agencies.

Get a job through your friend, to just softly get back in touch with working again. Especially if she’s willing to work with your medical needs and children. 🥰🥰🥰🥰

No they sold the AI is taking over your job… that is a lie. The problem is most cannot offer the wages ppl need. The for sure is lots of companies are looking, but not hiring. AI makes all kinds of mistakes… they still need ppl. The internet could have ended my job years ago.. but you need humans to do it right.

The same as true at my organization. I have been the only Admin person in the history of the organization (for 12 years) because everybody thinks it’s sexier to be a program person. Or whatever. But it’s also really hard to find people who are good at Admin because it’s usually non-Admin people hiring us and they actually have no idea what we do. None. We have got backups for everybody in the organization, except for me which literally makes zero sense go figure.

I'm in the same boat! I've shared this before but I was working at a small town hardware store since summer of 2022 but since Feb I've not been able to go back due to medical issues that I'm still trying to get figured out (sooo many doctors appointments). I've got a Bachelor's in Health Administration during the pandemic and couldn't get any internships. Anywho I've been trying to find a remote position until I'm able to drive again and it's been difficult finding anything remote even with my background

I think trying to find a job on the internet is not working anymore. I think it’s over saturated with AI and scams. Also I think it’s by design to keep small employers and employees from finding each other.

Half the time they saw you are too qualified. But you are correct, you have to tailor your resume to the listing.

Wow. And yes. It's real - my daughter has been looking for over a year. I am hunting remote work so I can squeeze in dr appts between working...and we get crickets. AI does not belong in hiring processes...IMO. But if they want to use AI - they need to complete that loop for AI to send out a letter that they are passing on hiring you after 42 interviews...

I've seen tons of ads for Sprout, and I just saw an ad for another one that's similar, but I can't remember the name of it. Only problem is it costs money to use.

Have you heard the concept of copy and pasting invisibly the job description into the backfield so that ai picks up on it?? Ai is destroying online apps !!
