@officialjohnfoster: I know I said my words could never do her justice, and that is absolutely true, but here are some thoughts to better understand this video: I never had the chance to meet Mrs. Dolly Parton, but through some mutual friends who were close to her, my heart's warm to think that after becoming familiar with me from Idol, she once said about me something along the lines of, "That boy can sing to me anytime." I was sure hoping to get that chance in person when I perform at Dollywood this October, and I do think in a way I will still get that chance. Those of you that are familiar with me know that grief is not a foreign thing to me. Losing my friends Maggie Dunn and Caroline Gill on December 31st, 2022 was the most tragic day of my life, and I was able to channel my song, "Tell That Angel I Love Her" (through the Holy Spirit), to somehow describe my feelings. I always emphasize that although it was written about my friends, it can absolutely be applied to your own grief. Please continue to say their names and support the MED Foundation and the Caroline Grace Gill Foundation. The lyrics in this video came to me shortly after Dolly passed, after seeing so many wonderful posts about her from so many grieving people, and I figured that Maggie and Caroline wouldn't mind me writing another chorus of their song about someone I'm sure they both loved, and now get to have with them. Lord, tell those 3 angels, and all other loved ones that we've lost, that we love them!
