@tavelarocque: Day 85 of the @HigherUpWellness speak your mind challenge. the man who plays it safe with what he's given is the one who gets punished. in the parable of the talents, a master gives three servants talents and leaves. two invest theirs and double it. the third, afraid of losing it, buries his in the ground to keep it safe. and when the master returns, the one who gets condemned isn't a thief or a liar. it's the one so scared of losing what he had that he buried it and did nothing. burying your gift to protect it is the sin. the fear that looks so reasonable, the not-risking, that's not caution in the story. it's the thing that gets you thrown out. you weren't given a gift to bury it. what you do with what you were given is the one thing you'll be judged for. that's the whole point of being given it. #faith #parableofthetalents #purpose #christianity #edit
