the stuff that they fill the cracks with is stretchy & squishy so that it gives the road room to expand & contract with the temperature! likely, if they repaved this section of road, it would just crack again due to water in the ground underneath. this way, the road is intact and better equipped to handle the weather!

there is no avoiding this. Temperature stress would just cause cracks in the new road and the sun will degrade the color in 2 years. by year 3 you will have it looking like this again. unless you want to be inconvenienced and taxed a lot more for these minor cosmetic detail, I'd just ignore it
