what was considered "appropriate" when he gave this talk is quite different now. And a lot people have taken this to heart and have realized 2nd hour is unimportant compared to the sacrament and happily leave almost before the person saying the closing prayer says "amen"

Remember.. he didn’t say a white shirt and tie.. but your Sunday best. I served in the Philippines and a lot of members Sunday best were basketball jerseys, shorts, and flip flops. He’s reminding us that Sunday service is a sacred service and should be treated as such (regardless of your church)

the first time i went to church after being less active as a youth for many years, i just wear pants and shirts. upon learning that I'm visiting the house of the Lord, i thought that i should present myself the BEST of me on Sunday (sabbath) to the Lord (as HE wanted me to be) 😊 no matter what u wear, as long as its your BEST dress that u can present yourself to Him (appropriately) wear it!. Whats important is u came with pure heart, contrite spirit, with humility acknowledging whom u worship! 🙏✨️you are His Child ! u are very welcome to His Home!
