Air pressure pushes the door backward the force acting on the hook cause it to follow the path of least resistance , (which has been caused by repeated use) the hook pops out . nothing to see here

The latch was at an angle far to open to work at all. So secondly, I have a door that doesn’t close properly in my house and when I open the door on the other side of the room, that door opens every time. Solved. Boring
