When I play it now, I know my interpretation carries something different — memories of our time together, the tenderness, and the emotions that remain behind every phrase. In memory of Damarys — mi mariposa❤️ 🎹 The technique: I transposed this arrangement from the original key to make this beautiful piece accessible to more pianists. We learn it progressively in 3 steps. Each time the main theme returns, the accompaniment develops a little further — adding movement and richness while keeping the melody at the center. You’ll also see the chord names on screen. Try to recognize and name them as you play. Don’t only learn where your fingers go — begin understanding what you are actually playing. 🧠 From a neuroscience perspective: Layered learning allows the brain to attach new movements to patterns it already recognizes. And when you begin putting names to chords and shapes that your hands may already know instinctively through repetition, you connect procedural learning with conscious musical understanding. That gives you more ways to remember, recognize and eventually reuse those patterns in other music.
