@mothershipsg: A fire broke out at a grass field near the junction of Bukit Panjang Ring Road and Fajar Road on Sep. 3. Footage uploaded to social media showed the aftermath of the incident, with the field engulfed in thick white smoke as firefighters on scene doused the flames. In response to Mothership's queries, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said they were alerted to the fire at about 4:30pm that day. There were 2 burning cages, commonly used to burn joss ceremonial offerings safely during the Hungry Ghost Festival, on the field. The cages contained joss paper that were still lit and burning as the firefighters worked. The cause of the fire is under investigation and there were no reported injuries. #mothershipnews

Ang Mo Kio, joss paper burning cage. Funeral, they burnt lots of paper thingys that went 3 storey high. Imagine the wind blows the ashes right into your house 😨😨 as the cage was place right outside yr common corridor

Really stupid. Obviously very irresponsible people. Causing such a big fire until fire brigrade must come. And all ran away now, i wonder if any CCTV available to identify those culprits.
