If you get into a car wreck, you’re financially compensated. If someone damages property, compensated. Wrongful termination is compensated. If you survive DV, you’re told to shut up, not talk about it, handle the consequences, and be lucky to have your life

Primary caregivers need divorce insurance. Not a prenup. But insurance we pay into monthly so if we need to leave we have a means of support until we can get on our feet and find housing and employment. Many are left homeless and penniless because leaving can mean life or death. Even though we had millions of dollars I lived in a car for 2 years.

Two years later, homelessness, and we are just barely making it. Literally slept in the car with my baby and social services, and every institution did not care. Police did not care about a restraining order. Women need to protect ourselves, because the systems put in place simply do not care and they profit more from us going through abuse.

What about damages. Like if the abuser would damage your apartment , punching holes in the walls, breaking brackets doing things like that… that financially distress you.
