that is all because of mother......my mom is not my family. my mom is not my safe place. my mom is not someone i can trust just because we share blood. my mom is not someone i owe unconditional access to. my mom is not entitled to a relationship with me simply because she gave birth to me. family is supposed to be built on love, loyalty, honesty, and showing up. not biology. and if someone repeatedly betrays you, lies to you, hurts you, and makes you feel like you have to protect yourself from them, you are allowed to stop calling them family. she may be my mother by blood, but she is not my family by choice😭
