The Rule: Under NZ Warrant of Fitness (WoF) rules, any camera hardware, aftermarket dashcam, or windscreen damage must not obstruct or sit inside the CVA if it impedes the driver's forward view. [1] Where is the CVA? The AA New Zealand Windscreen Guide defines the CVA as a vertical band measured directly from the center of the steering wheel. It extends 150mm to the left and 150mm to the right (300mm total width), spanning the full height of the glass except for the top and bottom 100mm. [1]
