🎶 SONGS FROM THE STREETS - JOHN DWYER | LOOK OUTSIDE Before playing his song Look Outside for us on the streets of Limerick, John Dwyer shared the story behind it. The song is about depression - but written from an interesting perspective. John explains that he isn’t experiencing depression himself now, but knows people who are. Look Outside is his attempt to imagine that experience from the outside looking in, using different kinds of weather as a metaphor for how someone living with depression might feel. As John himself is careful to say, it isn’t intended as medical advice or an explanation of depression. “It’s just a song.” And then he lets the music do the talking. 🎙️ We recorded John in Limerick as part of Songs from the Streets, our three-month journey around Ireland with The Dreams Loft’s mobile recording studio, meeting buskers where they perform and recording their music completely free of charge. One of the things we love most about this project is discovering what lies behind the songs we hear on Ireland’s streets - because sometimes a street performance carries a much bigger story than you might realise as you walk past. From Dublin to Nenagh, Limerick and beyond, the journey continues. 🇮🇪 👉 Follow The Dreams Loft to meet more of Ireland’s buskers, hear their original music and find out where Pete and his mobile recording studio turn up next. #SongsFromTheStreets #IrishBuskers #LimerickMusic #OriginalMusic #IrishMusic@John Dwyer
