I know for fact doctors in the US just want to get through the day as fast as possible and that means rushing through all procedures asap.

What part of the U.S.? They've been doing cord clamp (1 min) delay when possible, for years. NRP.

Delayed cord clamping is pretty standard in the US, it’s not typically 40 min but as long as there are no complications and the baby is not in distress every hospital I’ve worked at does delayed cord clamping

how has nobody heard of this? it's common sense. when my first was born we requested them to wait to clamp it but they cut it anyway. we went to a different hospital for our second and we didn't even have to ask for them to wait.
