I'm not a nurse I'm an xray tech but there was one night where I was stupid busy- really earning my money that night. I just had a patient who was being rude about having to wait so long when i got the sweetest patient 😭 'Thank you for actually working with me- you're really good at your job and were very sweet" like ma'am, I'd give you a hug right now if your arm wasn't hurting

I work 12 hour shifts as a CNA in LTC, there was one day that by the end of it I felt like I had completely given up, tears in my eyes, head down type of clock out. I walked past the nurses station to leave and my residents could see I was upset. It was like they had all planned it because right as I was walking past they all started with the “you’re doing amazing” and “we love you” there was like 10 or so residents, and let me tell you I BAWLED right there in front of them. They all got hugs from me that night. And THAT is family.

I always joke that the ER is my narcissistic abusive relationship 😅 hurts me, breaks me emotionally, talks down to me and just when I've felt burnt out enough, something amazing happens and makes me believe I'm right where I'm supposed to be.....🫠

ICU RN here. Was involved with a pt and family for a couple of shifts. Pt was brain dead. They decided to donate his organs. I was so honored to be apart of that journey for them. The family mentioned me in the pts OBITUARY. I sobbed when I saw that.

i had a patient beg me to stay and i said there are nurses around to care for him and that i needed to go and i kid you not he started tearing up and asked "well what time will you be back? please come back." (im a PT) i was having the worst week working 12 hours almost everyday and was about to have a mental breakdown

I was having the worst shift already, went to the cancer ward to drop off a patient I think and a parent of a patient I looked after in the ED a couple of months prior saw me, remembered my name, thanked me for caring for them and told me I made one of the most difficult and scariest moments bearable and less terrifying. I cried on the walk back to my ward, I love when you get the reminders why you go the extra mile <3
