The Silmarillion is arguably the best book among all the Middle Earth books that Tolkien wrote! LOTR is my favorite universe in books and film. There are also others that his son helped collect and finish such as The Unfinished Tales, and various histories. So glad youre enjoying reading The Silmarillion!! On a fun side note, last year my mom had bought us tickets to meet all 4 hobbit actors at a fanexpo as a christmas gift, and we had a blast! They are genuinely all very kind 🥹

Same thing here I’ve been having the ‘cravings’ itch to rewatch / reread the book, even had the movie playing as my white noise while working. So if really appreciate the recommendation. 😊

Ah, the Silmarillion!!! My one true love. You could even say it’s my…. Precious. (Baha) but I’m glad you’re enjoying it because it’s to this day one of my favorite books of all time. If you haven’t read the Smith of Wooten Major by Tolkien it’s SO incredibly and surprisingly beautiful and it’s very short, I finished it in a few hours and was just blown away by how much I loved it.

Fineee, I’ll watch the trilogy again, of course the extended editions and read the books too. 😭 Tolkien really created something extraordinary. The depth of the world he built is just incredible. He was truly a genius.

Im a huge lotr fan. I have read all books, but the simarillion I keeps putting off. Maybe I will try the audiobook 🤔 My mum explained everything to regarding the simarillion and backstory

I think that you just can’t help but love the Lotr universe. From how vast the universe is, the different races of the people, the languages, the descriptions, everything. And the way he wrote too, he had a way of writing that makes you feel close and immersed in the book while also being super elegant. 10/10.

Read it when I was 11, after reading the Hobbit and LOTR. Martin Shaw's audio recording is by far the best version I've heard.

I have started rereading the LOTR trilogy and it just feels so much more complex after reading them once in your teenage years and watching the movies and then reading them now. So much more depth and world building and character arches that I hadn’t fully considered before.
