As a company director, one of my employees who’s been with me for 5 years, his wife passed away. I closed the office for a day in respect, I made sure all the funeral costs were covered, I gave him 4 weeks of bereavement leave on full pay, however he only took 2. My family and the business have fully supported him and his family from that day and we continue to do so. There is nothing more important than family. My work force are all my chosen family. I will always go above and beyond to make sure every single person that has given me their time and support to help this business grow and be successful the very best conditions possible. We spend the best part of a third of our lives at work. That time needs to without worry, without fear and as comfortable as possible. There are some good bosses out there. Bosses that aren’t just focused on profits.

my father had a stroke and I left the next morning to go see him. this was during month-end at work. my manager did all my work for me. then I took off another week to go to his funeral. she did everything for me again. I had already run out of PTO but still got paid.

🤘🏴❌🦕 This is me i did this to brother on the day he died i went to work the regret i have for that i will never leave me never never put anything before people hold near and dear loved ones recently starting putting myself first in my fitness program and life style change because a better me will be better for everyone well my job still love it’s no longer no.1 which has made better at work🦕❌🏴🤘

Sadly this is probably 95% of the businesses we all work for these days. You are nothing more than a number to them and a tool in their pocket for increasing profits. The time of being part of a family and working with people that had not only your best interest but theirs as well is long gone.

Remember there's no such thing as We are family, You just a number at your place of employment . They see it as you owe them something as you are working and they gave you that job. It's all about the numbers and so and that's it.

My mother died at home with me 2024, I was working for the State of Texas. I was out 6 weeks dealing with everything. my job sent me flowers, they sent me cards, they sent me gift cards for food.... AND... when i logged my time using up all my sick leave and vacation days, they declined my request. marking my 6 weeks as bereavement. giving me back all my sick leave and vacation days. Some jobs are definitely better than others. I loved that agency. only reason I left was to move overseas. and even then, they were trying to find a loophole to keep me on after my move.🥰 I love them folks
