I hope sharing our experience raises awareness of how difficult eczema can be, and reminds other parents that they’re not alone. If this helps even one person, it’s worth sharing 🤍 - firstly we booked an allergy test and removed all allergens from her diet - Avoided steroid creams & thick parrafin creams prescribed by gp’s and dermatologists. These were making her skin SO much worse!! Please hear me when I say that steroids are not going to heal severe eczema. They’re just a ‘plaster’ that might lesson the symptoms or look of the eczema but once you stop using them the eczema will come back 100x worse. Also exposing your little one to topic steroid withdrawal which is where the body withdraws from the steroids which can lead to even worse symptoms. (My husband went through this a few years ago & it was HORRENDOUS!!) - homeopathy !!! - we only use a small amount of @larocheposay baby eczema cream on dry areas twice a day & zinc on sore areas - Only wash clothes in a small amount of unscented @ecover_uk - We only use @happyskinkids clothing, 100% cotton clothing & silk scratch sleeves - Bath every other day & use a bath filter with Dead Sea salt in the bath - we are really strict with her diet. Root veg is super healing so we opt for a diet rich in this - As much contact naps/sleep as possible. sleep is so restorative. If you are going through this right now, I’m sending you so much love, strength and support as you navigate what feels like an impossible time ❤️ Keep going. Keep researching, keep advocating, keep asking questions and keep trusting your instincts because that’s what us mums do. We carry so much of the invisible load, especially when the people we love most are unable to carry it themselves. Please remember that you don’t have to do it all alone.
