Somewhere along the way, we started believing that enjoying a blessing wasn’t enough. Other people needed to see it too. You buy something nice, post it. Move house, post it. Get married, post it. Go somewhere beautiful, post it. Even some of the most intimate moments of our lives have somehow become content for people we barely know. And I think as you get older, you slowly lose the desire for everyone to know everything. You realise that privacy is actually peaceful. There are blessings Allah has given me that I genuinely have no desire to show anybody. Because I have no need for strangers to validate whether my life is going well. Your happiness doesn’t become more real because 10,000 people saw it. Your marriage doesn’t become more beautiful because people know what your wife bought you. Your home doesn’t become more blessed because everyone saw the keys when you purchased it. And your success doesn’t become greater because people know how much you earn. Some things are better enjoyed quietly. Because not everybody watching you wants what’s best for you. Envy is real. The evil eye is real. And sometimes people don’t even dislike you... They just don’t care anywhere near as much as you think they do. So stop feeling the need to document every blessing Allah gives you. Enjoy your life without constantly proving that you’re enjoying it. Sometimes the happiest life is the one very few people actually know anything about.
