RAYUWA TAYI ALBARKA TRIBUTE TO MUSA MAI’AKWAI GIDADAWA ( Baban Bege ) Musa Mai’akwai Gidadawa, popularly known as Baban Bege, was a renowned Hausa Islamic musician whose voice, talent and devotion touched the lives of many people for more than four decades. Baban Bege was a graduate of Dogon Daji Teachers College and a professional retired teacher. Beyond his profession and musical career, he was a friend to many, a cheerful and humble personality and a lover of the downtrodden. He enjoyed massive support and admiration from different parts of Sokoto metropolis and beyond, largely because of his unique musical style and his deep love for Prophet Muhammad (SAW). It was this profound love and devotion that earned him the beloved name “Baban Bege.” His music was not merely entertainment; it carried messages of love, faith, devotion and cultural identity. Among his popular musical works are: 1.Fiyayyen Halitta Dan Larabawa Muhammadu Ahmadu, Shi Ya Fi Kowa. 2.Bege. 3.Che Fane Sam Bashida Dadi. 4.Yar Luba Tai ,a piece inspired by his deep love and affection for one of his daughters, Lubabatu. Baba Musa was a very friendly, jovial and approachable man. He was widely regarded as one of the leading figures among the old generation of Sokoto musicians, particularly those known for Bege and Mandiri music. His contribution to Hausa Islamic music and the cultural heritage of Sokoto will remain a significant part of the memories of those who listened to and appreciated his work. TO HIS COLLEAGUES AND CONTEMPORARIES; 1.Zaki Aliyu Gidadawa 2.Hon.Ya’u Danda 3.Ubaidu 4.Bala Mai Goro 5.Mujitaba ’Yar Sakki 6.Faruku Rinin Tawaye 7.Rufa’i Hussaini 8.Yusuf Sharu Helele 9.Lawali Tudun Wanda 10.Mal. Shehu Gidadawa 11.Mal. Aliyu (Zo-Zo) And many others whose names I may not be able to remember at this moment. Today, as we mourn the passing of this Great son of Gidadawa, it is remarkable to recall the massive crowd that attended his Salatul Janazah at Isha Maikware Mosque. The mosque and its surroundings were filled with mourners from different parts of Sokoto, to the extent that the gathering could almost be likened to the crowd usually witnessed during a Friday sermon. This massive turnout was a clear reflection of the love, respect and goodwill Baba Musa earned throughout his lifetime. Baban Bege has left the stage, but his voice, his music, his memories and his contribution to Hausa Islamic music will continue to live in the hearts of many. May Allah forgive his shortcomings, accept his good deeds, expand his resting place and grant him Jannatul Firdaus. To his family, friends, colleagues and all those who loved him,Allah Ya ba ku haƙurin rashin Aboki na Gari. Sai Mun Zo Baban Bege 😭😭#viraltiktok #viral_video
