@thesunnahguy: Some of the strongest friendships I have today were built during the hardest periods of my life. Not sitting around having fun. Not going out to eat. But when there was something difficult in front of us and we had to get through it together. Because you learn a lot about a man when things become difficult. You see how he behaves when he’s tired. Whether his word actually means something. Whether he disappears when things become uncomfortable. And whether he’ll sacrifice for you when there’s absolutely nothing in it for him. You can know someone for 10 years and still not really know them. Then struggle alongside someone for 6 months and somehow they become your brother. That’s what shared struggle does. And I think this is something men are massively missing today. We have comfortable lives, but increasingly isolated ones. A lot of men have friends they can laugh with, eat with and send reels to... But very few men they can genuinely rely on. Real brotherhood needs more than just spending time together. It needs a shared mission. Something you’re building together. Something that requires you to show up for each other when things get difficult. That’s where trust is built. Not by constantly saying, “I’ve got you.” But proving it enough times that it never needs to be said. This is a huge part of what we’re trying to build with BuildU. Not just a place for Muslim men to consume more information, but a brotherhood of good men who are actually trying to build something together and become better together.
