As someone who works at a bank they can’t legally put him on the new account without her signature or even tell him about the account. We had a woman who had a separate account from her husband that was a secret and we all knew if they came in together not to ask which account because we had to act like there was only 1 account.

NEVER bank at the same bank that you n spouse bank at. they WILL rat you out. it happened to me and for days my ex drug me thru the mud. it was aweful. and that teller got fired for releasing customer info. so that at least was nice.

My now ex MIL actually somehow got my name removed from my now ex husband and my joint account. She forgot one little detail, my debit card was still active so, I used it until all was gone for gas, groceries, kids stuff, etc until drained. It was my money from my work anyway
