I think it's too harsh! I get the seriousness of the case but these people are not flight risks and I don't see them as being threats. Furthermore, they have no previous or pending cases or convictions..The Magistrate is bias and I sense he was swayed by public opinion. They should appeal and take the matter to the high court.
