well first of all we do have clock in, especially for hourly pay employees, salary sometimes dont need to clock in but they do need to prove they have been at work or at least done the work for said role, secondly they do prefer you to take holiday leave but they usually have black out dates that no one can have off unless it's an emergency for e.g iv worked in the warehouse industry for 20 years and there black out dates always include December, and depending on the company January and somewhere in-between where their specific role in the economy gets its most volumes, but for the most part if you dnt take holiday you get it back in quivalant pay, and finally every work place 💯 has a kettle , a tea urn, a paddy pot ect for hot water for our tea, coffee, cuppa soups ect

legally a work place has to provide facilities to make hot and cold drinks in the UK. is that not the case in the US?

Lady, I don’t know where you worked in the US. I have had one job since I got out of high school that required me to clock in.. I get and take my vacation annually right now. I have five weeks on the books and I can leave and go grab a coffee if I want.

Incorrect, it depends from employer to employer, some have nothing others have apps on their phones directly linked to payroll, or electronic fobs used to enter a building can also do it, so nothing on the wall, as that's archaic and a practice from the dark ages 😊 x

I don’t think some people are listening very carefully… 😂 I said “myself” and specifically referred to what I do and don’t have. I’ve also been in the same job for over two decades, so I’m speaking from my own experience. And for the record, I never said everyone. 🤷♀️Listening is apparently a lost art. 😂

we did have to clock in on time and it was monitored. yes we were encouraged to use all our annual leave but it had to be coordinated with other team members. No hot water boilers for us (except in some newer offices) but there was always a kettle on hand for a cuppa
