Hello, Catholic here. Our tradition does document them. Anna and Joachim are her parents and she was conceived without sin. She was dedicated to the temple as a servant to the Lord. She resided in the temple and studied and served until a certain point that isn't specified. She was chosen even before birth to be the mother of Lord Jesus, hence her unique conception where she was free of what we call original sin

I am an atheist with an interest in the scholarly study of religion, and originally I was mainly focused on the Hebrew Bible but because of you I was inspired to get a Quran. I don’t think I will ever revert to Islam but you have helped me get over subconscious biases that I naturally have from living in America with a culture that demonizes Muslims, so thank you for that. This sounds so much like a gender flipped version of the birth of Samuel (im not sure if he needs a “peace be upon him” here or not so please forgive any unintended disrespect if I did this wrong) the Old Testament prophet in the Jewish and Christian belief systems. Down to Hannah’s (peace be upon her) name Except I almost like this…better? Something about this feels…right. Somehow. I’m not Muslim but still. This feels very right.

One mistake in وليس الذكر كالانثى here isn’t a complaint about the other gender but actually the women IS better than the man, in Arabic you putt the less first than the good like ليس خالد كمحمد khalid is less than muhammad , but again this is ONE of the sentences in Arabic that can be interpreted differently from other perspectives .
