@gamesdotgg: A new tool called the CS2 Slur Tracker has analysed publicly searchable Counter-Strike 2 chat logs and the numbers are grim. According to the tracker, 17.6% of all CS2 matches contain at least one racist or homophobic slur, with 2% of all in-game messages containing a slur outright. The tool was built off the back of the recent discovery that CS2's in-game chat logs are publicly searchable online. The tracker has since gone viral, with the community reaction split between those pointing to it as evidence that Valve's text moderation is essentially non-functional and others questioning the methodology behind the numbers. Valve's approach to toxic behaviour in CS2 has been a recurring criticism for years, with the mute and report system widely considered inadequate. The chat log searchability issue and now the Slur Tracker have put the pressure back on Valve to respond. #counterstrike #cs2 #counterstrike2 #valve #gamingnews
