my boomer parents retired with $3m and told me they were planning on dying with $0 and leaving nothing. I was completely on my own immediately following HS graduation (literally the next day) including health and auto insurance. They are completely dumbfounded that I don't want anything to do with them anymore.

my friend is watching his 85 year old father destroy his company instead of handing it off to him. he would rather spend it all and take it with him than leaving it to his son. insane

Dont forget many of them no longer speak to siblings after parents die due to the bloodsport event that occured while fighting for inheritance from their parents. That money and those precious family heirlooms (that they know the very accurate price of) mean more to them than anything on the face of the earth, their own kids included.
Meantime most younger generations would rather walk away from a pile of money than be slaves to boomer inheritance.

Every time I see one of these Boomer videos, I am so thankful my Boomer parents were kind, loving people. I thought that was normal growing up, it's so sad it's not

The only inheritance that many of us will get is a hoard that has to be cleaned out and thrown in the dump.

OMG!! So true. I’m a millionaire and my mother only wants to talk about wills and inheritance and try to hold the little 3-400k I’ll get over my head. It’s crazy.

"Their" money that their parents gave them for us and they stole in most cases. At least that is what happened to mine.

And they were like that even when we were kids. They would weaponize love as well. I remember when my mom was mad at me she would refuse to say I love you for days.

A lot of them have weaponized their money and used it as a manipulation tool to get their kids to do what they want/live how they want them to live, and are still confused as to why the relationship they have with their children is about money. When all they’ve EVER done is talk about who’s getting the money, who’s getting cut off, etc. They made the relationship transactional to begin with.

Hear me out, they are the ones that only care about the money. That why they think we’re like that. It’s narcissistic projection imo.

Boomers worked yeah, but alot was handed down from their parents. The economic boom after WW2 went strait to our parents. My mom sold our family homestead for 25k that was built in 1921 by my grandfather and uncle's. It was left to her in a will. We won't ever get that help like them.
