Nepal’s first woman helicopter captain, Priya Adhikari, has emerged as a key figure in the country’s flood and landslide rescue efforts. During a devastating six-day operation, she flew around 100 rescue missions through challenging high-altitude terrain, narrow valleys and difficult conditions. Adhikari helped evacuate more than 200 people from Timure during the first two days, as helicopters worked continuously to reach communities cut off by the disaster.
