Two: your mistakes are proof, theirs are context. When you get it wrong, it reveals your character. When they get it wrong, they were stressed, they were hurt, they meant well. When the rules only move one way, the goal isn't truth. It's preserving the narrative. Three: anyone who sees you differently becomes a threat.
